Day 88 – Kenpo X Substitute
Today was supposed to be Kenpo X, but as I wrote yesterday I was going to try to get up and get a hike in for my Mt. Whitney preparation. I did just that. I went to a trail near my house (picture is to the left) that gains/loses about 300 feet over what I’d guess is 1/3 to 1/2 of a mile each way. I went up and down this 3 times with a 35 pound backpack on. This took a little over an hour and I was dripping by the end of it. I did get rained on some, but nothing more than a heavy drizzle.
I feel like I got a workout that is probably roughly equivalent to Kenpo X. Maybe did not burn quite as many calories, but I really gave my legs a good beating. I do feel semi-guilty about skipping Kenpo as I am so near the end, but I don’t think it makes much of a difference since I still got a good cardio workout in.
Tomorrow is either yoga or core, I can’t remember. Only 2 more days and then I will be a graduate! I really can’t believe it is almost over.
